From March 16th to 18th, 2023, the second training within the Erasmus+ project “New education approaches for road safety” was held in the city of Ljubljana. The primary goal of the training was to exchange experiences and knowledge in supporting young people who had experience with road crash, or were secondary victims. Learning outcomes included better understanding of the target group and their needs, developed competencies for implementing different models of support and getting to know the alternative models and ways to implement them. During the training, participants were presented with the results of the international survey ''My life after the crash'' operated by FEVR and Vias institute about health, psycho-social and economic consequences of the road crash; with challenges of children and adolescents in developmental psychology in dealing with traumatic experiences and with guidelines how to face and empower close ones after sudden loss and trauma.

Participants also visited the central monument for road victims in Slovenia at Žale Cemetery in Ljubljana. This monument brings together the stories of victims of road crashes in a loud reminder to society as a whole. It is a point of confrontation, peace, calm, compassion, remembrance and reminder. It is a moment in space where sun and shadows connect thousands of victims, their loved ones, the perpetrators and all of us.
