In the period from 25 to 27 May 2023, the association „C.E.Z.A.R.“ organised an international event in which the partner organisations of the Erasmus+ project „New Education Approaches for Road Safety” participated. The idea of this event was to discuss the different models of prevention and support in road safety with young people.

At the beginning of the event, the guests together with the young people from Srbac were welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Srbac, Mr Vladimir Gužvić, and the Commander of the Srbac Police Station, Mr Siniša Šnjegota. Also present were experts from the transport sector employed in the Traffic Safety Agency of Republika Srpska and the public company “The roads of Republika Srpska”, who will be involved in the further implementation of
the project. Srbac will be the first municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement peer education with the aim of improving the position of young people in road traffic. In addition, the education will be accompanied by an online social media campaign.

On the first day of NEAR DEVELOPMET LAB, the participants worked in two groups and discussed prevention models to be implemented in the partner countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia and Austria. On the second day of the lab, partners discussed support models and participated in an online training on “Psychological support for road traffic victims - programs and activities”, held by Vesna Radonjić Miholič, PhD, clinical psychologist. During this training, the partners and young people received important information about different forms of support and their importance. The whole event was attended by about 25 people.

After the training and working part on support and prevention models, the project partners took part in a partner meeting and a “CMS training” with the aim to be educated in coordination with the web platform near-eu. The training was organised by Volker Hoffmann, representative of the organisation “Vision 5” from Austria.

At the end of the lab, the partners took part in a city tour of Banja Luka.
